Every stop the Silver Rose makes throughout the pilgrimage is a rosary-centered occasion for Knights, parishioners and community members to pray for respect for life, for the spiritual renewal of each nation, and for the advancement of the message of Our Lady of Guadalupe.
Plan to attend and experience the “SILVER ROSE PRAYER SERVICE” on April 5th at St. Augustine's Church. The service will include the background of the Silver Rose as well as the praying of the Most Holy Rosary, a reading, a Psalm the Gospel on the Annunciation etc. and a Final Blessing. In December 1523, Our Lady appeared to Saint Juan Diego and requested that a church be built in honor of her to aid in the evangelization of the native population. To help Juan Diego convince the local bishop, the Blessed Virgin instructed him to pick roses (in winter and not native to the area) growing on the hill. When he showed the roses to the bishop, an image of the Virgin was found on the inside of his tilma (cloak). |
